DIN stands for "Deutsche Industrie Normen," a German standard introduced in the mid-1980s to unify radio sizes in Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and Volkswagen models. These installation kits allow you to mount a RetroSound® Motor 1, Motor 2, or Motor 4 radio into vehicles that have either been modified with a modern DIN opening (7-inches x 2-inches) or were originally equipped with a DIN-sized radio. Each kit includes adapter brackets, radio mounting cage and a universal metal face plate that can be painted to match your vehicle's interior. Please note: knobs and radio are not included. For proper installation, this kit is designed to be used only on flat dash applications.
