What is Proposition 65?

California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, better known as Proposition 65, requires businesses to provide a warning to California consumers about significant exposures to chemicals that the State of California has identified as causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. These chemicals can be found in many everyday products, including automotive and restoration parts.

Why you are seeing this warning

Automotive components frequently contain metals (such as brass, which may contain lead) and plastics or rubber compounds (which may contain phthalates). Muscle Road Online, LLC (“Muscle Road Performance Design,” “we,” “us,” “our”) sells a wide range of restoration and automotive parts sourced from multiple manufacturers. Because product composition varies by manufacturer and part, we provide this general warning for products that may result in an exposure to a listed chemical.

Warning does not mean a product is unsafe

A Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily mean a product is unsafe or in violation of any other safety standard or requirement. It means only that a product may expose you to a listed chemical at a level California has determined warrants a warning. Many everyday products carry the same warning.
