1960-1970 Ford Falcon Windshield, Back Glass & Door Seals: Sedan or Hardtop? Look for the B-Pillar First

The Falcon is one of the easiest classic Fords to own and one of the easiest to order the wrong rubber for. Ford built it as a 2-door and 4-door sedan, a wagon, a Ranchero, a convertible and, from 1963, a 2-door hardtop. The glass openings are not all the same, and neither are the seals.

Go out to the car and check one thing first: is there a pillar between the front door glass and the rear side glass (a B-pillar)? If there is, you have a sedan or wagon. If the side glass rolls down to an open gap with no post, you have a hardtop or convertible. Almost every seal below depends on that answer. It's how the manufacturer splits the parts.

Front windshield seal, 1960-1965

We don't currently have a verified windshield seal to recommend for the 1966-70 Falcon. If that's your car, ask us and we'll check.

Rear window (back glass) seal

A note for 1962 and 1963 sedan owners: our supplier labels the early sedan rear seal "1960-62½" and the later one "1963½-65," but their descriptions list whole model years. If your sedan was built around the 1962-63 changeover, contact us before you order. The same goes for a 1960 Ranchero, because that listing's title and description don't agree on whether 1960 is included.

Before you install

All the glass seals above are installed while the glass is out of the car, and our supplier recommends a professional glass tech for the job. If you're doing it yourself, start with our step-by-step guide to installing a windshield rubber seal with the rope method. If you're not sure whether you need a seal, a molding or clips, read Windshield Seal, Molding, or Clips? How to Order the Right Part.

Still not sure which body style you have, or have a wagon we didn't cover here? Browse all our Falcon seals or tell us your year and body style, and we'll point you to the right part before you order.
